Slide & Video Lending
Policies
Established in 1980, the NAME Slide Library consists of slide and
video programs involving all phases of miniatures and their related
subjects.
WHO MAY BORROW SLIDES
Any NAME Club or Individual Member may borrow slides and videos.
NAME Club members may also borrow the slides and videos for speaking
engagements, special events or study. Individual Members must prove
NAME membership (i.e. photocopy of current membership card) and
abide by the same rules as a club.
PROGRAM CHARGES
The only cost for checking out a slide presentation or a VHS video
are to cover mailing. These cost are $5
for the slide show (1 tray) in the U.S., $10
for Canada & Mexico and $25
for International. However, a refundable deposit of $25
for each slide show is required, as well as a self addressed envelope.
This means every request for a slide program must be sent with two
separate checks made payable to NAME. The $25
check will be returned in a SASE envelope when the borrowed program
(s) is returned intact. Otherwise, money will be deducted from this
check to pay for any charges.
The mailing cost for one video are $3
in the U.S., $4 for
Canada & Mexico and $8
for International. No deposits are required for videos.
RESERVATION OF PROGRAMS
Slide and video programs should be requested six weeks in advance
of the showing date. Please send a first and second choice of date
- a SASE is helpful to notify you which date is available. The program
will be mailed to you at least ten days before the date to be shown
to take care of any possible delivery delays. It is possible that
a program might be shipped via UPS so a street address is necessary
with each request as UPS cannot deliver to a P.O. Box. You can download
a Rental Form in PDF format on the forms
page. Click here to go
to the forms page.
LOAN PERIODS
Slides and videos should be returned as soon as possible after
showing. "How To" programs may be kept 30
days, and all other up to 14
days. They must be back in the slide library no later than 14
days after the date shown. A $1.00
per day late charge
will be deducted from the deposit for any slide or video program
which is not back in the library on time.
CANCELLATIONS
All cancellations should be made promptly in order to make the
program(s) available to other borrowers. If the program has been
mailed before notification of the cancellation is received, the
rental fee will not be refunded.
EQUIPMENT
The slide programs should be shown only on Kodak Carousel Projectors.
The slide programs are housed in carousels that fit all Kodak Carousel
Projectors but the very old ones. A script is provided for most
programs. Borrowers are expected to provide the slide projector
and screen needed for showing. Only an experienced projectionist
should be entrusted with the showing of the slides. If no one is
familiar with operating a slide projector it is fun and easy to
learn! When renting a projector, rent only a Kodak Carousel Projector.
Under NO circumstances
are the slides to be removed from the slide tray. If the program
is damaged or lost while issued to you/your club, you will be held
responsible for replacement.
