I want to complete at least one of my Camp Make-a-Mini projects. That would include landscaping. The first one is so close already so it the most likely I do. I try to set realistic goals for myself because I tend to have mini ADD. Ideally I can finish these 3 and then display them together.

March
I have completely finished Sprinkles Sundae Shop. I just love this kit. It's so my style with the ice cream container turned into a shop and all the colors. I went a bit crazy with dolls. For such a small project it has so much activity thanks to Pat Hamilton's dolls.
Last year I had gotten the food and drinks done and that helped motivate me this year to finish. Thankfully Pat had available our was willing to make me more dolls because that food deserves to be consumed.
The light was included in the kit so wiring was super easy. I had to make it more complex with a switch to the side. It really needs the light to view the inside.

June
I have sad news to report. I have achieved nothing towards my goal of working on my Camp projects. I have worked on some new kits this quarter, most are not available, but here is one recently introduced.

Since the Year Long Challenges for the last three years motivated me to complete projects that had been waiting to be done for years, I am going to enter again this year. For 2026 I plan to build two quarter inch scale replicas of Thorne rooms from Petworth Miniatures. Having built one of these wonderful kits in the past I know how much work is involved, so I’m trying to be realistic about what I can actually finish.

March
I made a fair amount of progress on my first quarter scale Thorne room kit this quarter. Sooo many tiny pieces of wood to build up the moldings and sooo many layers of paint and varnish, but I’m happy with how it is progressing. Next up is lighting, completing the box and building all the furniture and accessories.

June
I have finished the first quarter inch scale Thorne Room for this year’s Challenge. As the ruler in the photos indicates, it is only 4 inches wide. Next up a Jacobean Reception Room.

Here we go again! Gearing up for the 2026 Challenge. The past challenges have really helped me work on some of the UFOs that have been pushed to the back of my cabinet. Once again, my goal is to use things in my stash and not purchase anything new (except for the Betterley’s calendar club or something new I just HAVE to have from any of the great miniature dealers). My focus this year will be to complete the 2025 calendar club from the Betterley’s, along with several other of Robin’s kits: 2 detective agency secret books, “A little witchy” kit, and “come fly with me” kit. Also “an Adoorable shop” kit with all the furniture and landscaping by Debbie Young. I’m also planning to complete projects from our local club and just maybe a few of the other UFOs hanging around here!
March
Been busy working on my projects! 2025 Betterley’s calendar club, done! The Cat and Mouse Detective Agency Case of the Christmas Pie, done! Started on the furniture for Debbie Young’s Adoorable House. Also working on the 2026 Calendar Club from the Betterley’s and club projects.
June
This was a busy quarter for me!! I’ve made progress on the Adoorable House, finished The Little Witchy Shop, Come Fly With Me and the Mouse Dective Agency Big Move. I’ve also completed the tulip stand from our cruise with Ruth Stewart, the Betterley’s Calendar Club Spring House and a club project (which I don’t have a picture of 🙃). I’m currently working on the Summer House from the Calendar Club, a club project from another mini club, and helping to plan a club project for the Raleigh Miniatures Guild. (And just maybe the the Mouse Detective Agency Case of the Missing Laundry is also in the queue!) I told y’all I’ve been busy!!!

2026 is going to be about finishing projects. In honor of the country's 250th, I will start with the "Betsy Ross House" kit. Spring will be finishing the "Old Summer Charm Bed & Breakfast" kit. For summer I want to create a vertical hillside display for my already completed three Camp-Make-a-Mini "Shepherd Huts". (This will include learning to use a static grass applicator.) To round out the year I plan to complete my "Fairy Tale Book Nook". This will include adding visible rooms behind some of the building windows and lots of fairytale & storybook characters (many from scratch.)

March
I finished the Betsy Ross house kit (by Debbie Young) right on schedule! Next quarter is her Bed and Breakfast with landscaping.

June
This quarter I pivoted and decided to landscape my shepherd huts from Camp-Make-a-Mini a few years ago.
First the scene had to fit an existing cover and include all three huts. I also learned how to apply anti-static grass (and only got one small shock in the process.)
Next quarter for sure will be finishing up DY's Bed & Breakfast -- complete with a fishing pond...

I have been working on this French Victorian for about a year. It always seems to get pushed to the back when other projects pop up. So, I decided that this would be my 2026 CYLC project. After nearly finishing with the painting, I talked myself into wanting to wire the whole thing for lights. (Yes, I should have started with the wiring...) Originally I was going to use battery operated lights, but there are too many to turn on. I have been collecting some old 12v lights that I think would work well in this house. And as you can see, there are still a lot of other things that need to be finished - the bay window, front door, and windows on the first floor, walls, stairs, built-in shelving, and so much more! I have nearly all of the furnishings ready to be put in - if I could just finish with construction!!!

March
I little update on my electrical adventure. I have converted all of the 12v lighting (except large chandelier) to 3v. I have also converted some 3v battery lights to wired. I am in the process of adding plugs. Everything is getting soldered. It has been a challenge finding all of the lights. Currently there are 15 lights (25 bulbs) and 12 outlets. I am sure I will still add more as I go!

June
I am making progress on the French Victorian! The roof garden shed and the conservatory are now wired with outlets and 3v lighting. The 3rd floor artist area and bedroom are also wired and lighted, but I need to do a little more construction to cover the wires and also looking for more light fixtures. I added some furnishings temporarily to see how things would look. The lights make a world of difference.

This is a huge deal on my part - I run the Texas Miniature Showcase and have put this house off for upwards of 8 years … always having a plan and never executing .. she’s been sitting on my workbench since moving to Texas - five years! 2026 is her year!

March
I primed and base coated the house outside and almost finished the flooring in the kitchen. And my custom cabinets arrived but are not yet painted.

June
Well - its a dismal report of “progress” if you want to call it that .. I managed to adjust one window to raise it so it doesn’t interfere with the sink and countertop.
At this rate I might finish in 2030 - in other news the show was a great success and I’m looking forward to the NAME convention in a few weeks - it’s my first.
I am really gonna hope that I get more done in the next quarter.

My new year's resolution (and my project for the Creative Challenge): To finish the girls' bedroom in my dollhouse. Photo in its current (very unfinished!) state is attached.

March
Though it might not look like I've made much progress, what you're seeing in this photo is actually monumental, because I moved recently and all my supplies (including this wallpaper, flooring and molding) were still in boxes in the garage. I had no idea which ones, though, so I had to go through everything in order to find them. Now that everything's in hand -- and I've ordered paint and wallpaper paste that aren't shown in this picture -- I'm excited to really get going!
P.S. If there's a moral to the story, it's that, when moving, you should itemize everything in your boxes really clearly!

June
This quarter I cut, sanded and primed all trim, and sanded and primed the door and the bed. And I cut all the pieces for the parquet floor.
Picture to come, unless I've disqualified myself by not sending it with this update.

I am working on a two story art museum that will be completed in 2026. It has a nod to the Louvre and the Chicago Art Institute where the Thorne Collection of miniatures is located.

March
Two quick update photos on the museum. I've done more but we are in the middle of moving 😭

June
I'm doing masks from around the world, and an Asian exhibit among other things. The exterior is coming along. The glass on the roof will open to the second floor, allowing views from the windows and the rooftop.
I took my daughter to the Tom Bishop show in Chicago this year. It was mind blowing. I picked up some wonderful items and a million ideas!

This year I am not going to push myself too hard, knowing there are too many competing challenges in real life. I am reducing once more in scale, this time to 1/144, I believe. I had purchased one Volker Arnold Ark kit some time ago, and then another one arrived for my birthday in 2021. So I need to make them both. The dear friend who gave me the second Ark passed away in 2022 and I will be really thinking of her as I make each animal for the Arks. They won’t be identical. If I should happen to finish these before the December deadline, I have lots more Volker Arnold kits to enjoy, outside of CYLC, or maybe for future CYLC years.

March
The first photo shows the two motherboards with one turned over, which shows color testing. I quickly found that extra-fine tip markers are not suitable for larger areas like the grass and sea, so I used acrylic craft paint for those. I also used wood stain markers for the ark and wheelhouse (not shown yet). Lastly, I purchased some jewelry bead containers with labels to sort out the 50 pairs of animals, birds, and reptiles as I remove them from the first painted motherboard. Some are as tiny as 2 millimeters. So many more to go!

June
My project is to make two Volker Arnold micro Noah’s arks and I haven’t even completed one at this report time. The ark itself was very difficult for me and it looks like I was a little rough with the prow.
I do think I have finally identified all the animals, birds, and reptiles and made labels for little boxes for each pair. Some of the animals need at least to be painted or more spots or more gluing. Most of the animals are now done, though.
The little boxes came in so handy when my entire project accidentally landed on the floor at a May mini club meeting, and not a single animal was lost - and some of them are the size of an eyelash.

2026 is the 3rd year for making my Showcase Dollhouse a Year-Long-Challenge. It's almost finished (as ever a 1" scale dollhouse can be) after basically looking like a bookcase full of junk at January 2024. In 2024 the theme was "Post Construction Decor": (flooring, wallpaper, windows, trims). The theme for 2025 was "moving in" with adding furniture, building and filling lots of shelves and surfaces. For 2026 the theme is "Finishing Touches." It's time to get this done!
This is the list at this point:
Music room: sheet music, lyre chairs, low stool, violin, bass, mandolin, drapery; Breakfast Room: tablescape, breakfast foods, samovar table, fill cabinets, curtains; Dining room: hang art & mirrors, set table? Roast goose? Fake windows with drapery. I am also short 5-6 chairs??? Find, build or buy some?; Butler Pantry: artwork, clock, butler tray(s?), tea cart(s?) [basic tea, cocktails, lemonade, Christmas, other for quick seasonal changes); Kitchen: glue up more shelves, spice rack, wood box, bell wall, how to put in and better display all copper pots and utensils, clock on chimney hood or??? Make the fancy Bavarian cuckoo clock? What's on the stove? Herbs on the window sill. More copper things such as measuring cups. What's in process on the work table? What's beneath?; Bell Pulls and plants or flower arrangements in various rooms; Halls: Finish and fill hall stand, change powder room lighting? Change stair runner?; Hired man's room: clothes, make long johns? Dress bed. Coat hooks? Things on walls. Hunting related? Tools? Chair rail? Age the bed; Coral bathroom: lots of little tweaks. Plants on the window sill, towel bars, hang bathrobes, better octopus invasion tentacles; I wonder what surprises we might have in that attic?; and tweak and conceal lighting and especially all of those wires!

March
Between my health and family shenanigans, I didn't work on minis much during the first quarter of 2026. So here is the photo as she currently stands. Let's hope for a good leap forward during Q2!

I really, really need to clean out, throw out, donate out, or whatever it takes to get my Studio cleaned up. It's so bad that it's a struggle to just walk around. Things are strewn everywhere and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the "organization" HA!! Looks like there was a struggle in there.
There needs to be room for 2 Cricuts, an xTool laser, a desktop kiln, a scroll saw, a computer desk with a TV/Monitor and 2 printers. THEN these is all the supplies that go with these. I might need a backhoe and a dumpster!

March
I am working on getting my craft room organized and I started in this corner. Off to the left of the desk is my laser. This area is going to be used as a desk and laser cutting. I made the monitor riser with storage for a laptop and keyboard. Then I made the 4 drawers, 2 on each side, and they have walnut fronts for some contrast. They are also modular so they can be rearranged if needed. No finish has been applied until I decide what color scheme to use. I’m leaning toward retro, like 1950’s or 1960’s.

June
I can't believe it's already time for update #2! There hasn't been as much progress as I had hoped but at least it's a step or two forward.
Finally assembled some (4) room box kits that have been collecting dust for a number of years. They are being used initially to sort things into some type of logical category. There are more boxes in the works in hopes of getting my shelves in order.

My year-long project for 2026 will be: To complete the assembly of the kit from NAME Day 2025. This is the courtyard project, and I also bought several of the extras. If I get it fully assembled and am able to do the layout of the flowers and other items I have ready to "finish" the whole project, that would be my extra credit for myself. ;) My primary goal is to complete the kit and the add-ons. I haven't started at all, everything is still in the packaging. This longer challenge is going to be perfect to get me to tackle this in the way I envisioned!

March
I am just forwarding the current state of my year-long progress: NO PROGRESS, LOL. I am having surgery on Wed so I probably won't be starting this until late May! I hope others are having more luck with their progress. ;)
June
The most exciting thing is the 3D print of the Lion's head wall fountain that I made. I designed the print then made some adaptations to it and this is what I ended up with. It's going to go on one of the walls.
I glued down a sheet of 2 mm thick green "grass" paper that I got on Amazon and the base is now ready for assembly! I just have to finish the stones and adhere them to the walls. I am putting painted egg carton (thin peeled off pieces) onto the walls which I am costing with thin layers of modeling paste. I made a test version and it looked great.
I have included some pictures of some of the purchased gardens that I got in an eBay lot that I am going to use.
The walls are also all glued together but I don't have photos of those.
Some other small things I've worked on include a few (maybe 2?) Robins that I am going to nestle around near or inside the plants.
My progress has been somewhat random and I have worked on completely different aspects of the project at different times but I am definitely progressing well.

I’m going ambitious with six projects. Let’s see how well it goes by year’s end! Briefly, the projects are:
1. Custom base and landscaping for Robin Betterley’s Ravenswood 1/144” kit (to make it be the creepy house on the hill). This is a carryover project from my CYLC for 2025.
2. Debbie Young’s Toy Cottage 1/4” kit (Create Workshop)
3. Samantha Murray’s Art Nouveau Conservatory 1/4” kit
4. Bob Francis’ Witch’s Keep - A Haunted House 1/4” kit
5. Debbie Young’s 109 Bellevue Place - A 1/4” Chicago Home kit (Chicago Show workshop)
6. I have taken on a project to restore a 1” architecture model (exterior only) of a funeral home near where I grew up. The finished project will be displayed in a local historical museum. This will be a multiple-year project; my 2026 goals are to add lighting elements and to fully side and shingle the structure.

March
Attached are two pics showing progress on two of the projects I included for my CYLP ‘26. Specifically, Debbie Young’s “Toy Cottage” kit and Bob Francis’ “Witch’s Keep” kit.
Witch’s Keep: I have a little of the exterior to finish up along with the wiring (as evidenced by the blue tape in the pic). I also need to finish with the furniture and furnishings.
Toy Cottage: I have a little of the exterior to finish up and then stock the shelves with a variety of toys.

June
Attached is a pic showing Debbie Young’s 109 Bellevue Place kit from a workshop at the 2026 Chicago International Show which I completed. I’ve also been working on, but still need to complete, the furniture and furnishings for the kit.
I didn’t get to work as much on my other CYLP ‘26 projects in Q2 as I hoped as another project snuck in; I agreed to complete a centerpiece for the NAME CA Dreaming convention (pics will follow in Q3).

For 2026, I really want to complete the craft room I started in 2024, in memory of my mom. I thought I'd definitely get it finished for the 2025 CYLC, but I didn't. I've completed quite a bit, but there's still a lot to go. I want to install a lighted ceiling, finish the outer walls nicely, and there are numerous drawers, shelves, and cubbies to fill, as well as several additional pieces of furniture that need to be made.

March
I've gotten quite a lot of tiny things finished. I'm especially proud of that fireplace I made totally from scratch, by just looking at a picture of a real one. I've gotten a copper roof on the bay window and a paper "brick" facade on the outside of the building. There's still a lot of things to do, despite how full it already looks. I am bound and determined to get this memorial craft room finished this year!

Final Update
I can hardly believe I’ve finally completed the memorial craft room. After all the time, love, and effort that went into it, I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. As I created this room, I tried to include everything my mom loved – sewing, cross-stitching, lighthouses, mermaids, all things beachy, the color purple, and even Hershey’s Kisses. Every detail was chosen with her in mind.
One of the things I’m most proud of is that I built both the workbench and the fireplace entertainment unit completely from scratch. No measurements, no patterns, just an idea and a lot of determination. To say I’m amazed that I actually pulled it off would be an understatement. I also stitched tiny cross-stitch pictures and pillows for the room. My mom taught me how to cross-stitch when I was about 10 years old, so those pieces feel especially meaningful to me.
This project has been a true labor of love, and while I miss her every day, creating this room helped me feel close to her. I know in my heart that she would absolutely love this little craft room made in her honor. 💜✨

This year I’d like to work with my 9 (she’s saying almost 10) yo daughter to finish her ice cream parlor. My assigned mission for NAME’s garage sale (per Kaitlyn) was to find something that could be used to make an ice cream shop. I found a basic structure that she liked. Since bringing it home in August we’ve only added a roof top deck for additional dining space. And she’s picked paint colors! Wish us luck! We have a lot to do.

March 2026
This quarter we built out parts of the shop, started painting windows, and painted and applied the siding. Kaitlyn (my 9 yo) also picked out her interior finishes including some flooring and wallpaper. We also discussed some lighting options, and she decided that she wants a very “lush” outdoor garden dining space on the roof!! Wish us luck!!

These challenges have really motivated me to finish my UFOs! If I finish the three on my list for this year, I will be ready to start something new. (Of course that assumes I won’t add any new UFOs before the end of the year, and what is the likelihood of that?) My plan is to furnish the Camp Make-A-Mini Projects from 2023 and 2024 plus also furnish the Chic Boutique Thursday Night Project from Cincinnati.

March 2026
So far I have completed the Shepherd’s Hut and started on the Bungalow. I have had to squeeze in some other projects of course!

March 2026
I haven’t done much this quarter due to being on the committee for the National Convention and volunteering to help teach the Wednesday Night Project and create a centerpiece. (I must be crazy!). I have assembled some of the work tables and quilt racks for my Arts and Crafts Cottage project and purchased some stools to go with the tables.

I have several very old large projects that are partially complete. For this year I will attempt to finish a Victorian kitchen that was taught at the Guild School in the early 1990’s by Nic Nichols. I have located most of the pieces and the drawings he gave us. I will probably have to add some pieces of wood. I found photos online of a more fully completed project from someone in the class which will help me put it together. Unfortunately he did not really give written instructions so I am just going to forge ahead and do my best.

March
This project is a real challenge. I had to figure out what items were missing and order them. I found a few additional unfinished kits that I had and began staining and assembling them while waiting for the orders to arrive I need to make space on the workbench for this large room box which should really be my real project because I have to move all of my deceased husband’s tools and other things to make room. Now I need to cut and stain all the mouldings that came in the order, repaint the dirty walls and finish the floor. Then I can glue in the doors and windows and finish the screened in porch. I was actually able to do some of the work during the Create Friday afternoon UFO which gave uninterrupted time to start this.

June
Could not get too much done this quarter. I assembled several kits, removed all the loose items from the box and cleaned all the debris that had accumulated. I cleared space in my basement workshop to accommodate the large size of the box and I started staining some of the moldings and bought a few items to put into the box when it will finally be finished. I will install all the moldings and sand and stain the floors before I re-paint the walls. The box originally was made with hard wiring just on the ceiling and so I’ll try to figure out how I can add a couple of fixtures without dismantling the wainscoting. There is still a great deal to do, but I do hope to finish it this year.

I have two (or more, lol) 1” scale projects that I have been collecting for. One is a ladies' office vignette in a frame and the other is a ladies' dressing room, possibly in a clock case. Currently the pieces are in boxes waiting for someone to take pity on them and get them finished. If these get finished, I have a 1” kitchen to do.

March
Here are my progress pictures, I am almost finished with the easiest one. I’ve been collecting for the court ladies dressing room for at least 25 years. I still need to add the back wall.
I did design, cut the parts, and build the desk for the ladies office vignette. Still a loooong way to go on this one.

June
I finished the easy project, a collection of things that I made and collected over the years. I made a shell and set them into a clock case, I had to raise the floor a bit and the hardest part was adding the sheer drape across the back

I am working on 2 projects for this year's CYLC.
1 - I am going to attempt to finish my 1/4" scale Oberman’s Tree House class that I took at the Dallas show in 2021. This class was taught by Shaun and Amanda Crawford. I need to complete the inside and want to add a lot more to the outside landscaping.
2 - There are several people that are getting together once a week to work on 1/4" scale Creekside Studio kit by Jill Castoral. Won't be able to attend every week but figured this might be another opportunity to work on getting another project done (finger's crossed? lol!).

March 2026
I have been able to put most of the structure together and put together room contents based on my stash. Nothing is really glued in yet since I've electrified and trying to plan as I go. Chandelier is also hanging temporarily as I haven't put on the roof yet.
I have not worked on Oberman's Tree House any more yet.

June 2026
I have completed the interior of Creekside this quarter, except for the ceiling, trim on 2nd floor, and putting chandelier in permanently. I will begin on the outside in July.

I had this 1 inch dollhouse on last year’s challenge and did not get very much done so I want to try again. Also want include completion on some other projects that I have started but have not completed. Charleston Single from Charleston Convention, Birdhouse Bluff from Cape Cod, hot Chocolate market stall from Christmas Market cruise 2025, and to complete Rose Cottage.
I would like to organize my craft room so I can have different workspaces so I can spend time working on completing these projects not getting distracted by having to get the project out but just moving tools to different projects.

March 2026
I have been working on making 1/4” hydrangeas for Birdhouse Bluff. So hen I get to landscaping I just need to put the leaves on and “plant” them. Also getting work areas for different projects ready but not photo worthy yet🥺
